R&D has professionals with proven expertise in Phytochemistry, Analytical chemistry, Molecular biology, Microbiology and Pharmacology
Our Biomedical research lab is contributing in providing preliminary scientific evidence on the therapeutic benefits of our products. The team includes a group of innovative minds and has succeeded in developing several novel strategies for the screening of herbal products. Our expertise lies in the field molecular biology, microbiology and nutritional science. The facilities include fully developed animal cell culture system and microbiology to study the disease pathology and the metabolic pathways. Our research is also intended to make an impact in the scientific community by means of publications in national and international reputed peer reviewed journals.
Our in-house R&D also includes the computational biology facilitating in the understanding of molecular targets of active principles in herbal extracts. Our experimental approach in this direction makes use of bioinformatics tools such as Autodock and MD simulation. Let us have an overview of the various strategies employed towards a thorough validation of therapeutic claims of medicinal herbs. Free radical scavenging is an important criterion for the therapeutic claim of any herb. Based on the polyphenol content in the extract, various in vitro antioxidant assays are designed. These studies also include protective effects of extracts on DNA and Protein structural integrity. The techniques used here include Agarose and Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
The in vitro studies also include specific enzyme inhibition assays corresponding to the study in demand. The lab is also equipped with a fully established cell culture room where different mammalian cell lines are maintained. The molecular mechanism of herbal extracts in alleviating the disease pathology is being studied using suitable cell system. Microbiological division is another arena of research at Biomedicinal research lab. Here the herbal extracts are screened for genotoxicity in order to determine the possible gene mutations caused by extracts. Our products are also being tested for antimicrobial activity and the preservative efficacy
